To innovate competitive circuit designs and provide technical leadership in the development of advanced tuner and demodulator products.
Key Accountability Areas
- Establish technical requirements for circuit designs and architectures, prepare realistic project schedules and coordinate the technical team to achieve objectives.
- Provide leadership and guidance to find methods to deliver required circuit performance with reduced area and power consumption.
- Continually improve processes to enable rapid development of quality designs.
Typical Activities
- Establish architectures and designs which meet key specifications.
- Design high-performance circuit blocks which meet key specifications.
- Layout key circuit blocks, as required.
- Conduct and participate in detailed design reviews.
- Provide technical leadership within a team environment, sharing common goals, strategies and information.
- Communicate with appropriate frequency and detail to superiors, peers and subordinates.
- Lab evaluation of circuits, as required.
Requirements
- Seven years’ experience in the field and preferably a Master’s or Ph.D. degree.
- Silicon proven, production-worthy analog/RF IC designs, with expertise in such blocks as low-noise amplifiers, mixers, PLLs, ADCs, DACs, amplifiers and potentially other high-speed blocks.
- Expertise in analog design techniques, circuit fundamentals, biasing, matching and reliability issues.
- Expertise in analog signal processing concepts, such as filtering, feedback and FFT analysis.
- Understand, identify, and quantify non-idealities in circuit and physical design.
- Ability to work in a team environment sharing common goals, strategies and information.
- Ability to organize work and deliver to schedule.
- Understanding of advanced CMOS processes and modelling issues. Familiarity with BiCMOS would be advantageous.
- Significant experience with the Cadence design tool suite including Spectre/SpectreRF as well as verification tools such as Calibre and Assura.
- Familiarity with design automation techniques, mixed-signal simulation tools, OCEAN and SKILL scripting is considered a plus.
